What's it like
The Peru Trek is charity challenge that will excite and exceed all of your expectations!
From your start point in Cusco you will trek remote Andean trails, visit local villages
and Incan ruins. Acclimatisation time is built in so you can get maximum enjoyment
as you experience breath taking sights and witnessing Peruvian culture first hand.
This really is a once in a lifetime trip to land like no other but more importantly
the Peru Trek is also about group effort and support together with friendship!
Charity cycles and treks bring together a wide range of people each from different
back grounds and each with their own reasons for taking up this exciting Peruvian
challenge. Over the 10 days you’ll meeting like minded people, swap stories and
find new friends all while completing a truly unbelievable trekking experience.
The physical element to the trek often worries people but the Peru Trek is designed
for everyone to be able to take part, whether you’re a regular rambler or want to
use the trek to get fit. We ensure that everyone who starts makes it to the finish
point and has the most amount of fun possible. With some basic training covered
at home you will be more than capable of completing the trek and the trip of a life
time.
The majority of the trip takes place at an altitude of over 4400 metres and along
mountain trails it is an incredible route and your kit bag, water and food is taken
care of along by porters to ensure that your full concentration is on the challenge
ahead and enjoying every aspect of the trek. You’ll be staying 3 nights under canvas
along the route with the rest of your time in 2 to 3 star hostels and hotels.
The trip involves a visit to Machu Picchu one of the most important historical sites
in world heritage and you’ll have time to discover it’s beauty along with the more
modern city of Cusco.
